Projects

RMEF Volunteer On-Site at a Project RMEF projects are classified into two categories -- special conservation projects and local projects. Special conservation projects are considered to be of national significance and have been identified as top priorities for development activities. To learn more about a special conservation project in your area, click on the name of the project below.

In addition to special conservation projects, each state in the Northwest Region has a Project Advisory Committee (PAC). These committees review project proposals submitted from agencies, groups, and individuals. The PAC then recommends projects for funding. These recommendations are reviewed and authorized by the National Project Review Committee at RMEF headquarters in Missoula. To learn more about projects in your state, click on your state in the PAC report listing.

If you have an idea for a project that would benefit elk and other wildlife, please get in contact with your local RMEF staff member to discuss the project idea with them. You can get contact names and phone numbers from the People section of this web site.
